Slowly and gradually, he also started developing an interest in the game. He joined Salcete FC football camp for the kids and got selected to play for the U-14 team by the local coach Mickdom Rebello. But, he never thought to take up football as a professional career. Lawrence won a couple of Goa football association age group championships and went on to represent Goa in the U-19 championships. He also got a chance to represent Salcete FC in Goa professional League football.

But, still, he managed to win three trophies during the year. These trophies were the Kolkata League, Durand Cup and San Miguel International Cup, Nepal. After his stint with East Bengal Club was over he wanted to remain with the club, but, the management did not want to do so and hence he accepted the decent offer by Dempo FC in the year 2005.

In 2005 he helped the Dempo FC team win their first NFL title and was instrumental in the Goan team winning Santosh trophy. He won the best midfielder award in the National Leagues. The midfielder helped Dempo FC to win a plethora of titles. These titles include the following trophies two NFL trophies, 3 Hero I-League titles, 5 Goa League titles and won the Durand Cup in 2006 and Super Cup in 2008 and 2010. After completing the contract with Mumbai FC he returned back to Kolkata and signed a contract with Atletico De Kolkata, which won the inaugural ISL season in 2014. But, Lawrence was left out of the game for most of the season because of a previous injury and was out of the limelight. After he returned, the club already had a set team and this mark the end of Lawrence’s club football career.
